Our Story

Matcha Haven was founded by Michael & Jessica Robinson with the desire to help people experience peace and love in a world of unrest. Matcha represents these qualities due to its amazing health, energizing, mentally stimulating benefits. We want to offer people a message of peace and love through our content and interactions with them, as well as though our high quality matcha tea.

More About Matcha

Matcha is the pure, high grade green tea leaves from Japan that are stone-ground into a fine powder. Because you consume the leaf in its entirety (there is no steeping involved), the nutritional value skyrockets.

Japanese matcha is known for having the highest quality, most vibrant green matcha on the planet. This is largely in part to the meticulous farming and harvesting methods that have been part of traditional Japanese culture for centuries. Japanese agricultural standards are cleaner and purer than most countries. Matcha grown outside of Japan has been shown to not only be of much lesser quality, but also has been found to have a high rate of contamination due to pollutants that affect the soil conditions.

Nutritional Value

Because you are consuming the entire green tea leaf as opposed to steeping it, you are taking in all the health benefits that come with the plant. When you drink steeped green tea, the majority of the nutritional value is not being consumed. With matcha, however, you received 100% of the antioxidants, amino acids, chlorophyll, fiber, and vitamins contained within the green tea leaves.

Just take a look at several of the following benefits that come with consuming matcha tea:

One serving of matcha is nutritionally equivalent to 10 cups of regularly brewed green tea.

  • 137x more antioxidants than regular steeped green tea (high EGCG content)

  • Boosts metabolism and burns calories

  • Detoxifies and cleanses, rich in chlorophyll

  • Calms the mind and relaxes the body (L-Theanine)

  • Heightens concentration

  • 1 serving of matcha contains 1/3 the caffeine as a cup of brewed coffee

Matcha vs Coffee

Coffee is a go-to for millions of adults for its ability to provide a caffeine rush to energize the day. However, many are turning to Matcha Tea for its sustainable energy and incredible health benefits!

Let's take a look at the comparative advantages of both coffee and matcha, starting with coffee:

  • Coffee is easier to find. Coffeeshops seem to be everywhere, making coffee beverages readily accessible. While some coffeeshops sell beverages made with matcha, it is sometimes harder to find than coffee beverages.

  • Coffee can be less expensive. If you're brewing a cup of standard ground coffee at home, it will often be slightly cheaper than a cup of premium matcha. However, in both instances, home brew is cheaper than a coffeeshop of cafe.

Now Let's take a look at matcha:

  • Matcha contains L-Theanine, an amino acid that helps your body process caffeine differently and creates a state of calm alertness. While one serving of matcha has less caffeine than coffee, it provides a less jittery, more sustained energy boost without the crash. L-Theanine also improves focus and helps your concentrate.

  • Matcha contains much higher levels of antioxidants, which protect against disease and aging. At 1573 ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) units per serving, matcha is one of the very best source of antioxidants in the world!

  • Matcha is superior to coffee when it comes to boosting the metabolism and burning fat by increasing thermogenesis (up to 40%), the rate at which your body burns calories.

  • Matcha contains catechins, a unique type of antioxidant with potent cancer-fighting properties.

  • Matcha is easier to make. No fancy French press, steam machine or appliance is required. All you need is a whisk, blender, or shaker bottle.

  • Matcha provides fiber and nutrients that coffee does not, including chlorophyll, vitamin A and vitamin C.

  • Unlike coffee, matcha will not leave you with unpleasant breath.
